Props and Costumes

Props
The first prop that we have decided to include in our video is a baseball bat, we have chosen this because we feel that it will make Mikah look powerful in a more masculine way but whilst still looking feminine with her clothing. It will also show the gangster them we want to include because its like she is holding a weapon and makes her look scary which is what she wants in her man.This is a similar image of the bat we are going to use.

Costume
For our main character Mikah we want her to dress in clothing that is casual and stylish because of what out target audience research result showed.

 

The first outfit is a cropped hoodie that our dancer Chrissy wore. We wanted her to wear this because the branding of Adidas is very stylish and urban which fitted with our overall theme, the white logo also stands out very well with the lighting shining on it in the hall when she was dancing. The khaki green bottoms are also very sleek and made Chrissy look very professional when she was dancing. As the hoodie is cropped it showed her abs and stomach which we liked because it made it look even more alternative because it wasn't a standard hoodie but it was cropped which is a popular trend.

 

The second outfit was for Mikah and the top was a white an black striped top with a long bomber jacket and ripped black jeans which shows the darkness of the song because she is mostly dressed in all black. This was a very edgy outfit that put the gangster feeling across to the audience especially the ripped jeans because Mikah actually made them herself so the rips were higher than the usual ripped jeans which made them look very alternative which fits with the clothing style of Kehlani.

 

 

The second outfit for Mikah was a mustard brown colour jumper with a long black coat and black jeans. This decision was one we found to be not the best for the genre of our music video as it wasn't quite edgy enough and instead of looking casual and stylish she looked more like an everyday person and not the image we want to show to the audience. The long jacket however did make the outfit look a bit more edgy and showed Mikah to be a strong woman with the way it flowed and the length of it was a statement.
